Planning the Perfect Paddy's Fit

St. Patrick's Day is fast approaching, and you may be struggling to find the perfect outfit. Whether you're going to a parade or going out to celebrate, dressing on theme is crucial for this holiday. Depending on the climate you live in, the options vary, but one thing all outfits will have in common is the color green. On Paddy’s, of all days, it is socially acceptable to wear kelly green and parade around town with a shamrock painted on your face. Get ready to drink your green beer in your green Paddy’s fit and take inspiration from the options below.

If you want to go all out and wear a “traditional” St. Patrick's Day outfit, there are so many quirky t-shirts available for the occasion. You can be casual and get a graphic tee from places such as Walmart, Old Navy, Michaels, or even Amazon. Pairing it with your favorite pair of jeans and sneakers is comfy and casual while still being festive. If you want to accessorize to dress the outfit up, you can get a pair of fun sunglasses from Amazon or an assorted pack of green and gold beads. If you want a more form-fitted version of the top, you can also get it as a baby tee and put a quirky saying on it using a Cricut or buy one from Etsy. Common phrases such as Kiss Me I’m Irish or Good Luck Charm are great options for tops like these. You can even pair the baby tee with a mini skirt to dress it up a little bit while still staying with the slogan's top theme.

You may not be into the graphic tees and store-bought Paddy’s themed attire, and that is totally okay; there are still so many ways to incorporate green into your outfit. Many trends I have seen this year include wearing basics with a pop of green to stand out. This can be in the form of green jeans with a white top in the style of your choosing, leather pants with a green crop top, or even wearing plain jeans and a white tee and layering with green. If you live in a colder climate and plan on being outside, layering is key. There are so many unique ways to do so. A favorite that I have seen recently is a green puffer vest from Amazon paired with blue jeans and a long-sleeved white top. Not only will the vest keep you warm, but it is also the perfect way to add a pop of green without being over the top.

Another trend I have seen in the “cool girl” Paddy’s outfits is in the accessorizing department, specifically with hats. Trucker hats are very trendy right now and can be paired with any outfit, especially for a daytime look. There are so many brands and so many different options. Along with that, you can also accessorize with gold jewelry. Gold is perfect for St. Patrick’s Day, and while you may not want to wear a statement gold clothing item, incorporating it into your jewelry is a great option. You most likely already have these jewelry pieces, and there is no need to spend an arm and a leg on real gold items. Marshalls and T.J. Maxx carry brands, such as House of Harlow, that have an array of earrings and necklaces to choose from. Not only will they be perfect in completing your Paddy’s outfit, but you can re-wear them as everyday pieces as well.

There are so many options to make your Paddy’s outfit stand out. Regardless of whether you want to go all out or keep it toned down, the opportunities are truly endless. You can take any of these looks from day to night while staying on theme and looking fabulous. Dress in what you’re comfortable in, and let the luck of the Irish be on your side this St. Patrick's Day! ☘️
